Enjoy one of the best hikes in the world
with lunch at the Shepherd’s Hut

The Path of Gods hike takes you along the Amalfi Coast, where you’ll be able to admire one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world. The first part of the hike offers outstanding sightings of Praiano, Positano, Li Galli islets and Capri’s island. Along the trail, elm and oak trees provide shade with hints of myrtle and juniper in the air.

I will teach you about this area’s history, flora & fauna and I’ll share some of our legends with you.

During this guided hike, we’ll meet a local shepherd for a Food Experience: besides tasting delicious vegetables from his garden, as well as cold cuts, we will try some goat cheese, bruschetta with fresh tomatoes and a glass of home-made wine.

When in season, you’ll also be able to witness the making of fresh goat cheese in front of you!

Bear in mind

This hike is classified “E”, Moderate: there will be few points where we’ll go up and down, walk on rocks, soil and roots coming out from the soil.
Please wear hiking shoes or sneakers with a good grip.

The Hike

Once we’ve gathered and are all together, we’ll start our hike from the hamlet of Bomerano, in the town of Agerola and we’ll pass the Biscuit Grotto, where people from Prehistoric Time were living.

Our path will continue crossing wild precipices, full of caves and small vineyards.

We’ll take the upper trail, where we’ll have a different view from the lower one.

Along the way, we’ll check out all the terraced gardens, with wines from a local vineyard.

Some time after that, we’ll be able to see the beautiful town of Positano, known also as the Vertical town.

Halfway through, we will stop at the Shepherd’s hut, check his goats, and have a Food & Wine Experience, before continuing on our journey, on the lower Path, to go back to Bomerano.

We’ll be able to admire the amazing town of Praiano, and its Dominican Monastery from the IX century.

Finally we’ll be back in the Capasso square and get back to our van.

ON REQUEST THIS HIKE CAN BE DONE FROM BOMERANO TO NOCELLE (7,5 KM) AND THEN REACH POSITANO

The first one was a small group 9 day pre organized tour in Puglia and this recent tour was a 9 day 3 person  curated tour just for myself and two friends in the Compania region and Cilento area! We agreed on 2 home bases, one in Cava de Tirreni, a hillside town, just 35-45 mins from Naples and another at a GORGEOUS and RELAXING Agriturismo Farm-house Corte di Plano in Santa Barbara di Ceraso! All the food was delicious and accommodations were lovely and quite comfortable!! Gaetano is easy to travel with, knowledgeable, fun, friendly and considerate!  A Great mix of beautiful gardens, art, nature,  hiking, incredible history, less touristy local sights, lovely generous people and fabulous food!! Grazie Mille Gaetano for another FABULOUS TRIP!

He drove us everywhere and made sure our accommodations and food were perfect. He took us places we wouldn’t have even thought about that were off the beaten path.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son and I hiked The Path of the Gods last year, and it was an amazing experience. We had Gaetano to accompany us, and it was well worthy. Gaetano is very friendly; he knows extremely well the history of the area and he is very much engaged with the local communities. Apart from the breath-taking view around every bend, the highlight of the hike was a visit to an old shepherd’s hut. The local sheep man was very kind to offer us some goat cheese, salami, and homemade bread. As you can see my son was very pleased. I highly recommend Gaetano if you want to visit this part of Italy.

He’s friendly, knowledgeable & was attentive to our safety.  The views are spectacular, especially when you reach the point for a full panoramic view of the Amalfi coast. Gaetano had many interesting facts he shared about the history of this region and we had a delicious lunch at the Shepard’s home just off the path. This was quite an experience filled with musical instruments for all to join in, lunch from their garden and great homemade wine. Gaetano is well-connected and experienced…and fun!! I was wary initially because I knew nothing about this tour company.  I corresponded with Gaetano via email multiple times firming up the details of our private Path of the Gods hike.  He was patient and thorough when answering my many questions.  The more we communicated, the more confident I became that I was making the right choice.  It turned out that he was an incredible find! Gaetano was extremely personable and knowledgeable. He turned our hike, our experience at the Shepard’s Hut and transport to/from our lodging into a highlight and extremely memorable part of our trip.  Later in our stay, on a questionable weather day, Gaetano picked up 6 of us and turned this gray day into a fun filled adventure.  Not only did he take us to view some requested tourist spots, like the Fiordo di Furore and Grotta dello Smeraldo, but when the weather did not cooperate and the crowds were too large in Amalfi, he saved the day by rerouting us to explore some smaller towns like Maiori where we enjoyed lunch and the gorgeous ocean views. The hike was beautiful and included historic sites. He arranged for us to have lunch on a farm — such a nice change from crowded restaurants and so delicious! Gaetano is both knowledgeable and easy to be with. We thoroughly enjoyed his company. Our day with him was one of our favorite experiences during our two week vacation in Italy.
